Sweet & Saucy Meatballs (appetizer)
Meatballs:
You can buy the ones that are ready to cook or make them from scratch.
Ingredients for the meatballs:
* 1/4 cup package (1 1/4 pounds) 93% lean ground beef or turkey
* 1 egg white
* 1/4 cup seasoned dry bread crumps
* 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
* 1 garlic clove, pressed
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
Preparation:Preheat oven to 400 F. Chop onion. In a bowl combine the ground meat with onion, egg white, bread crumbs, thyme, garlic pressed and salt and mix.
Using a small scoop, shape the meat mixture into small balls. Place them in a single layer over bottom of a deep bake recipient. Bake for 25 minutes and drain.
Sauce:
* 1 can (8 ounces) jellied cranberry sauce
* 1/4 cup ketchup
* 1/4 cup orange marmalade
* 2 tablespoon brown sugar
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Preparation:
In a bowl combine cranberry sauce, ketchup, marmalade, brown sugar; mix well. Pour sauce over meatballs; mix gently to coat meatballs evenly. Return to oven; continue baking 15 minutes. stir gently before serving.
It is going to be Enough sauce for about 40 meatballs.
